Location: Sombrero Lighthouse Reef in Marathon

Description: The Sombrero Reef extends from the base of the Sombrero Key Lighthouse. This protected reef area is one of the most spectacular in the Keys. The shallow depths of this reef allow for an easy snorkel.
Notes For this Snorkel: This is the second time for us going out to this reef. Unlike the last time conditions were perfect with calm seas and no sea pests. Once again we used Spirit Snorkeling to get out to the reef.
Parking: Parking is free and there was a place for us to park our kayak trailer.
Snorkeling Charter Cost: It is $30 per person with or without your own gear. They have a $2 off coupon on their website.
Amenities: Fresh water showers and the crew has snacks and food at an additional cost.
