Description: Barracuda Reef is a rocky reef very near the shore and the Dania Euro Jacks are a collection of jacks put there sometime ago that runs out from just beyond the shore. The average water depth is around 14 feet.

Notes For this Snorkel: This is an area that we usually swim to from shore. This near shore reef is mostly a rocky bottom with small patches of coral and lots of small fish. On this day we got there on a friend’s boat before heading out to deeper water. It was a good thing that we brought our full body rash guards as the Moon jellyfish were out in full force. In addition to the nuisance of the jellyfish, we also encountered a strong current. We did a quick swim from Barracuda Reef  to the Dania Euro Jacks before getting back in the boat and heading to deeper water.

Critters seen on this snorkel: Scatted schools of small fish, small patches of coral, sea fans and lots of Moon jellyfish.
