Location: The very North end of John U. Lloyd just south of the Port Everglades inlet.
LAT/LONG 26.09035, -80.10687

Description: This is the very beginning of the reef that runs south all the way to the Keys. I would guess that before the inlet was cut this was a continuation of the reef that we often snorkel offshore from Lauderdale-by-the-sea.

Notes For this Snorkel: Getting much better at using a paddleboard to snorkel from. Actually, I’m loving this paddleboard for beach snorkeling.

Visibility was decent with no current. It was slack low tide which was nice as the water was only about ten feet deep, if that.
Not much coral, but a lot of sponges and plenty of large fish and turtles.
